Era of smart objects and algorithms from buildings, cars, wearables to AI, NLP and search,
Humans are becoming more empowered through technology, yet dependent and not as smart!
Is BI second to AI?
There are 10's of millions of scientists, engineers, and programmers working in the field of artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning, building algorithms that empowers an army of robots to solve all sort of problems from vision, computation, speech understanding, and the list goes on. A question raises itself, who is supporting Brain/Bio Intelligence (BI). Is it because humans populate the earth with more than 7 billion people, we are not interesting anymore, or because we are consumers, numbers, or simply brains to be re-engineered and replaced with a better version?
There is no doubt that new innovations are improving our lives, but the concept of augmented technologies is taking over to become the core center stage as long as we are ignoring our innate capabilities. It is fascinating how much AI accomplished, but let not forget the collaborative effort of an army working toward that end. How about putting some of the efforts to understand and nurture geniuses like da Vinci, Einstein, Avicenna, … Where have we gone to? BI used to roam earth with wit and intellect, but now, it is all about latest gadget or AI. It is sad that one's intelligence is inversely proportional to how smart the phone he is carrying. We need to change that. Long live BI.
