Arithmetic Generic vs. Concrete study using N400
We ran Arithmetic experiments (PI Dr. Jennifer Kaminski) to understand how the brain dealt with generic versus concrete math processing. For identity information, the brain favored concreteness in term of efficiency; however, for our numeral targets, event related potentials (ERP) were inconclusive in identifying significant differences.

Figure. N400 difference False-True
G:Generic, C:Concrete, N: Numeric, I: Identity, D: Difference.
Significant difference for Concrete identity at 400ms, not much difference
for numeric differences. Similar findings at Central and Frontal areas.
